The Captain Diana Trophy U-23 Women’s Selection Trial tournament 2026-27 began at Wankhede Stadium on Monday, with the aim of selecting players to represent Mumbai in the upcoming BCCI U-23 Women’s T20 tournament.

Named in honour of former India women’s captain Diana Edulji, the competition is being organised by Fort Youngsters under the aegis of the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

Platform For Emerging Cricketers

The tournament will give young players an opportunity to showcase their skills before MCA selectors and stake a claim for selection.

MCA president Ajinkya Naik described the competition as an important initiative, saying it offers aspiring cricketers a competitive platform to demonstrate their abilities and earn selection for Mumbai.

Edulji highlighted Mumbai’s rich cricketing tradition and said tournaments like these provide young players with the exposure and competitive environment needed to progress to the next level.
