Bruno Coutinho’s Indian football journey began during his school days in Goa. He represented India at the Asian School Games in Brunei in 1987 before progressing to senior international football.
Salgaocar Success and India Captaincy
Bruno Coutinho became one of Goa’s best-known footballers through his performances for Salgaocar. His defining moment came in the 1997 Federation Cup final against East Bengal in Kolkata, where he scored both goals in Salgaocar’s 2–1 victory.
