India’s Asian Games Schedule For September 20

Shooting, wushu and teqball medal events headline India’s action on Sunday

Indian athletes will compete across multiple disciplines on Sunday, September 20, as the Asian Games action continues in Nagoya. All timings are in IST.

Several Indian athletes will be involved in medal events, with shooting, wushu and teqball providing some of the day’s key opportunities.

Shooting And Wushu Lead Medal Events

Elavenil Valarivan, Sonam Maskar and Vidarsa Vinod will compete in the women’s 10m air rifle qualifying and team final at 6:15 AM, followed by the individual final at 11 AM, subject to qualification.

In wushu, Suraj Singh Mayanglambam will compete in the men’s changquan final at 5:30 AM, while Aparna will face Iran’s Sogand Sinkaeichetan in the women’s 52kg Sanda round of 16 at 3:10 PM.

Vikrant Baliyan will take on Iran’s Soheil Mousavi in the men’s 75kg Sanda round of 16 at 4:50 PM.

Teqball will also feature two medal contests. Quimcy Dsouza will play Japan’s Yuina Sakamoto in the women’s singles bronze medal match at 6:30 AM, while Dsouza and Mohamed Anas Beg will contest the mixed doubles bronze medal match at 7 AM against Vietnam’s Hoang Minh Tan Nguyen and Gia Ngih Trinh.

India In Action Across Team Sports

India’s women’s cricket team will face Bangladesh in the semifinal at 10:30 AM.

In hockey, the Indian women will play Uzbekistan in Pool B at 7:30 AM, while the men’s team will face Indonesia in Pool A at 11:30 AM.

The badminton women’s team will open its campaign in the round of 16 against Kazakhstan at 11:30 AM.

Table tennis will see India in action multiple times. The women’s team faces Indonesia at 6:30 AM and Singapore at 12:30 PM, while the men’s team takes on Indonesia at 9 AM and Iran at 3 PM.

Swimming And Mixed Martial Arts

In swimming, Akash Mani will compete in Heat 5 of the men’s 100m freestyle at 7:22 AM.

Utkarsh Patil and Rishabh Das will feature in Heat 3 of the men’s 100m backstroke at 7:37 AM.

Mixed martial arts will see Suchika Tariyal face Mongolia’s Altanchimeg Baigalmaa in the women’s traditional 60kg quarterfinal at 7:10 AM.

Varun Sanyal will compete in the men’s traditional 77kg quarterfinal at 2 PM, with his opponent to be confirmed.

India will also compete in the men’s team regu preliminary Group B in sepaktakraw.
