TASHKENT, Uzbekistan: The India U20 men’s football team will face its biggest test of the AFC U20 Asian Cup China 2027 Qualifiers when the Blue Colts take on hosts Uzbekistan in a crucial Group B encounter at the Do’stlik Stadium on Thursday, September 3.
Kick-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM IST, with India entering the contest on the back of a hard-fought victory over Syria. However, Uzbekistan’s strong opening performance means the Blue Colts will need to produce another disciplined display if they are to strengthen their qualification hopes.

Uzbekistan also began their campaign with a victory, defeating Bangladesh 2-0 in their opening fixture.
The hosts currently occupy top spot in Group B, while India are second on goal difference. With both sides entering the match unbeaten in the qualifiers, Thursday’s meeting could have a major impact on the final group standings.
Uzbekistan are expected to pose a different challenge from Syria, particularly with their quick transitions and ability to move rapidly between defence and attack.

India’s preparations for the qualifiers had already produced encouraging results. During their Bengaluru camp, the Blue Colts remained unbeaten across four international friendlies, recording victories over Singapore and Yemen while keeping clean sheets throughout the series.
That defensive consistency has now carried into the qualifiers, where India have conceded no goal in their opening match.
But Uzbekistan will provide a significantly tougher examination.
