Manchester City Crush Brentford 3-0 to Stay Alive in Premier League Title Race

Manchester City kept their Premier League title dreams alive with a dominant 3-0 victory over Brentford at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday. The crucial win ensured Pep Guardiola’s men remained firmly in the hunt for another league crown as the season heads into a dramatic finish.

After a frustrating first half where Brentford defended resolutely, City finally found the breakthrough in the second period. Belgian winger Jérémy Doku opened the scoring with a brilliant curling strike that shifted momentum firmly in the hosts’ favour.

Star striker Erling Haaland then doubled City’s advantage with a clever close-range finish, taking his Premier League tally to 26 goals this season and strengthening his lead in the Golden Boot race. Substitute Omar Marmoush wrapped up the victory in stoppage time with a composed finish after a rapid counterattack.

Despite the comfortable scoreline, Brentford made City work hard throughout the contest and created several dangerous moments. However, Guardiola’s side controlled possession and produced relentless attacking pressure, registering 25 shots compared to Brentford’s four.

The victory moved City within two points of league leaders Arsenal with only a few matches remaining in the campaign. Guardiola admitted his side no longer controls the title race but insisted City would continue pushing until the very end while hoping Arsenal drops points in the remaining fixtures.

City now prepare for a crucial run of fixtures against Crystal Palace, Bournemouth and Aston Villa, while Arsenal face West Ham in a match that could significantly impact the title battle.
