Alexander Isak will return to full team training this week, according to Arne Slot.
The Liverpool FC striker has been out of action for more than three months after suffering a leg fracture and undergoing ankle surgery.
Return after injury
Isak has not played since December after picking up the injury during a match against Tottenham Hotspur. The Sweden international had made 16 appearances and scored three goals before being sidelined.
Slot confirmed that the 26-year-old will join the squad in training on Thursday, marking an important step in his recovery after months of rehabilitation.
The Liverpool manager said the striker is in a “good place” after working hard to return to fitness and that returning to group training will be a positive moment for both the player and the team.
Big-money signing
Liverpool signed Isak from Newcastle United for a British-record transfer fee of £125m in September.
The forward sustained the injury when he fractured his fibula following a challenge from Micky van de Ven while scoring in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Tottenham on 20 December.
