Norway’s cross-country skiing star Johannes Høsflot Klæbo continued his extraordinary form by claiming his 12th consecutive victory with a commanding performance in the 20km skiathlon at the FIS Cross-Country Skiing World Cup in Falun, Sweden.
Klæbo once again showed his class in the demanding race, which consists of 10km in classical technique followed by 10km in freestyle, staying with the lead pack before launching a decisive attack in the closing stages. The Norwegian crossed the finish line in 46:11.0, securing another World Cup triumph in front of an enthusiastic crowd.
It was also a perfect day for Norway, with compatriots Harald Østberg Amundsen and Martin Løwstrøm Nyenget finishing second and third respectively to complete an all-Norwegian podium sweep.
The race remained tightly contested for much of the distance, with several athletes staying in contention before the pace increased after the ski change from classical to freestyle. Nyenget pushed hard at the front to raise the tempo, but Klæbo stayed close and unleashed his trademark finishing sprint on the final stretch, a move none of the challengers could match.
The victory further highlights Klæbo’s dominance in the sport. The Norwegian star has been in sensational form this season and recently made history by winning all six cross-country skiing gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics, underlining his status as one of the greatest skiers of his generation.
With his winning streak now extended to 12 races, Klæbo continues to set the pace on the World Cup circuit as rivals struggle to find a way to stop the unstoppable Norwegian champion.
