West Indies powered into the Super 8s of the Men’s T20 World Cup with a dominant nine-wicket victory over Nepal in Mumbai, maintaining their perfect record in Group C.

Clinical Chase in Mumbai

Set 134 to win at the Wankhede Stadium, the two-time champions made light work of the target, finishing on 134-1 with 28 balls to spare.

Captain Shai Hope led from the front with a composed 61 not out from 44 balls, bringing up his half-century in just 38 deliveries. Alongside him, Shimron Hetmyer continued his fine tournament form with an unbeaten 46 from 32 balls, taking his tally to 133 runs in this year’s competition.

Brandon King was the only batter dismissed as West Indies surged to 44-1 in the powerplay and never looked troubled thereafter.

Holder Rips Through Nepal

Earlier, Nepal’s innings never truly gathered momentum after being sent in to bat. They slipped to 22-3 inside the powerplay under disciplined bowling and sharp fielding.

All-rounder Jason Holder starred with the ball, claiming 4-27 to restrict Nepal to 133-8. Dipendra Singh Airee top-scored with 58 from 47 balls, while Sompal Kami added a late unbeaten 26, but the total always looked below par.

Super 8s Secured

With commanding wins over Scotland, England and now Nepal, West Indies progress confidently to the Super 8 stage. Nepal, meanwhile, exit the tournament without a victory.

West Indies conclude their group campaign against Italy before turning their focus to the knockout phase.
