NEW YORK: Jarrell “Big Baby” Miller delivered one of boxing’s most unexpected viral moments during his fight against Kingsley Ibeh at Madison Square Garden, when a punch in the second round knocked off his wig mid-bout.
The stunned crowd reacted with gasps, laughter, and cheers as Miller’s hairpiece flew loose under pressure. Instead of losing focus, the heavyweight stayed composed, later removing the wig himself and tossing it into the crowd, embracing the moment with humor.
Despite the distraction, Miller went on to secure a split-decision victory over Ibeh, proving the bizarre incident did little to derail his performance in the ring.
After the fight, Miller revealed the real reason behind the wig. He explained that he had accidentally damaged his hair just days earlier after mistakenly using a harsh chemical product instead of shampoo at his mother’s house. With no time to recover, he opted for a quick fix — one that didn’t survive Ibeh’s punches.
“I’m a comedian — you’ve got to make fun of yourself,” Miller joked, brushing off the viral moment with trademark confidence.
The incident quickly spread across social media, turning an awkward mishap into one of the most talked-about boxing moments of the year.
