Spurs Split On Frank Future After Win

Thomas Frank’s position at Tottenham remains uncertain despite a morale-boosting 2-0 Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday night.

Goals from Christian Romero and Dominic Solanke in the first half ended Spurs’ three-match losing run and temporarily eased the pressure on the Dane. But the big question still lingers – is this a turning point or simply buying time?

Before kick-off, Frank was again greeted with jeers when his name was announced. That mood changed at full-time, but not everyone was convinced.

Fans still unconvinced despite victory
Spurs supporter Sarah Sturgeon-Scraggs said, “I think 99% of this stadium are Frank out. We get so little joy.”

Her father Ronnie added, “Barring a miracle in results and style, the fans have abandoned him. He must go.”

While fans praised the energetic first half, frustration returned after a defensive second-half display.

“We went five at the back, the game slowed down again,” Sarah said. “I’m still Frank out.”

Another supporter Ali Speechly said, “It looks like a bunch of players doing what they want. Thomas Frank can’t seem to put two good halves together.”

Some signs of hope emerging
Not all fans were negative. Supporter Alfie admitted he had been critical before kick-off but changed his view after.

“First half was brilliant. Second half wasn’t great, but we didn’t concede,” he said.
“Frank might have more up his sleeve than we think.”

Dressing room still backing Frank
The performance suggested Frank still has the players on his side. Their intensity and unity stood out, especially at half-time when the squad walked off together.

Former Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson said, “That wasn’t a team that’s lost the dressing room. They played for their manager.”

Frank echoed that view after the game, saying, “The players are giving everything. That’s a very good sign. We are together.”

Two different Tottenhams this season
Spurs sit 14th in the Premier League but have lost just once in seven Champions League matches.

Former striker Ally McCoist said, “There are two Tottenhams this season. Thankfully, the European one turned up tonight.”

Burnley clash now crucial
Frank knows the pressure will return quickly when Spurs face Burnley in the league this weekend.

“The key is to build on this,” he said.
“We must keep believing and keep working.”

With the club hierarchy reportedly considering his future, this win may have bought time – but results in the coming weeks will decide everything.

“Two big glasses of red will be necessary,” Frank joked. “I will enjoy them.”
