‘People Are Afraid’: Arsenal Emerge as the Premier League’s New Juggernaut

Arsenal’s transformation from title hopefuls to outright favourites is gathering unstoppable momentum — and their rivals are starting to feel the pressure.

A year ago, dropped points against Newcastle, West Ham, Fulham, and Crystal Palace derailed their title bid. This season, the Gunners have beaten all four — a clear sign of evolution under Mikel Arteta. Those 10 points they surrendered last year now separate them from the chasing pack.

Even more impressively, Arsenal’s strong start comes despite a brutal fixture list that already included away trips to Manchester United, Liverpool, and Newcastle, plus a home clash with Manchester City. Yet, they remain four points clear at the top — a position few can argue they don’t deserve.

Statistically, the Gunners are a powerhouse. They rank among the top teams in shots taken, fewest goals conceded, and fewest chances allowed, blending Arteta’s tactical discipline with attacking flair.

“People call them ‘set-piece FC,’ but they’re so much more than that,” noted former City defender Nedum Onuoha. “They deserve to be where they are.”

Having spent around £250 million on eight signings, Arteta’s bold rebuild is paying off — Arsenal boast the tightest defence and are second-highest scorers in the league, all while dealing with multiple injuries.

Former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott says the team’s aura is palpable: “Arsenal can do everything now. There’s a fear factor — people are afraid of them. It’s becoming normal that they don’t concede.”

Ex-England striker Ellen White summed it up best: “They’re a juggernaut — and right now, they look impossible to stop.”
