Bhubaneswar: Arunachal Pradesh’s junior kickboxing team showcased outstanding form at the Wako India Junior Boys & Girls National Kickboxing Championship 2025 held in Solan, Himachal Pradesh. The five-day championship concluded on September 26, with the team securing a total of 15 medals — 7 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze.Gold medalists in the boys’ low kick category included Dangu Noel (-60 kgs), Tana Clinton (-51 kgs), and Suchim Thamoung (-81 kgs). On the girls’ side, Tonuja Moran (-48 kgs) won gold in low kick, Bharati Sonowal triumphed in full contact below 44 kgs, while Tonuzyoti Moran (-60 kgs) and Tana Tara Habia (-63 kgs) added golds in K1 and point fight events, respectively.Silver medals were won by Arpan Gogoi (-51 kgs), Dangu John (-51 kgs), and Delayso Kri (-54 kgs) in boys’ low kick, K1, and light contact events, respectively. Kaami Payeng (52 kgs) earned silver in the girls’ low kick division.Bronze medals went to Chow Meong Mirip (-54 kgs) in boys’ low kick, Taken Yein (-54 kgs) in light contact and kick light, and Charu Takam (-54 kgs) in point fight.The team was guided by coach Gopal Moran and manager Kishor Thapa. This impressive haul marks a significant achievement for Arunachal Pradesh in the national kickboxing arena.
