NORTON, MA — In a flawless third-round performance, Chinese rookie Miranda Wang fired a seven-under-par 65 to seize a three-stroke lead at the weather-disrupted LPGA FM Championship at TPC Boston. The 26-year-old now stands at 18-under 198 as she puts herself in prime position to capture her first career LPGA title on Sunday.

Wang’s Bogey-Free Climb

Wang, a former NCAA collegiate champion from Duke University, methodically worked her way up the leaderboard. After finishing her second-round 67 on Saturday morning, she came out for the third round and delivered a consistent, bogey-free display. Wang racked up seven birdies, including a crucial stretch of three straight on holes six, seven, and eight, to open up a commanding lead on the field.

Leaders Falter, Zhang Holds Strong

Starting the day with a three-shot lead, 36-hole leader Kim Sei-young of South Korea couldn’t maintain her pace. After a long day of playing to finish her second round, Kim posted a one-under 71 for the third round. She struggled early with two bogeys but managed to recover with three birdies to stay in the hunt for her first win in nearly five years.

Meanwhile, American Rose Zhang completed a second-round 64 and followed it up with a solid five-under 67 in the third round. Despite an early bogey, Zhang finished strong with six birdies, leaving her tied with Kim at 15-under.

The Rest of the Contenders

Just one stroke back, world number one Jeeno Thitikul of Thailand and American Andrea Lee are tied for fourth at 14-under 202. Both players posted strong rounds, with Jeeno carding a seven-under 65 and Lee a six-under 66. Another three players, including South Korean Park Kum-kang, are tied for sixth at 203. Park made a massive jump up the leaderboard with a stunning eight-under 64.
