India enjoyed an encouraging second round at the Hulencourt Women’s Open in Belgium, with all four golfers successfully making the halfway cut and keeping the country’s hopes alive heading into the final two rounds. Diksha Dagar and Aditi Ashok spearheaded the challenge with impressive performances that left them firmly in contention.
Diksha, who shared the overnight lead after a flawless opening round, carded an even-par 72 to slip into a tie for third place at four-under overall. The two-time Ladies European Tour winner looked set to remain at the top after mixing three birdies with a steady display, but two late bogeys prevented her from matching the pace of Spain’s Carolina Chacarra, who surged into the outright lead. Even so, Diksha remains well placed to mount a title challenge over the weekend.
Aditi Ashok also strengthened India’s campaign with another composed round. Returning to the Ladies European Tour ahead of next week’s Evian Championship, the five-time LET winner followed her opening 70 with a one-under 71 to move to three-under overall, earning a share of eighth place. Her round featured remarkable consistency, with one birdie and 17 pars highlighting her controlled approach.
Avani Prashanth battled back from an early setback, including a double bogey, to finish at even par and inside the top 20, while Pranavi Urs secured her weekend berth by making the cut on the mark at five-over. With all four Indians progressing, the focus now shifts to converting their promising positions into strong finishes in Belgium.
