Transportation officials in New Jersey are preparing for heavy congestion if a possible NBA Finals Game 6 coincides with a FIFA World Cup match in the region next month.
NJ Transit says it is developing contingency plans to manage huge crowds expected from both events, though concerns remain over whether the system can comfortably handle simultaneous demand. Officials indicated that nearby PATH train services could help ease pressure on rail networks.
The issue has gained attention amid soaring excitement surrounding the New York Knicks’ deep playoff run and the massive global interest surrounding the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States.
