Kolkata Knight Riders produced their highest total of IPL 2026 after Finn Allen’s breathtaking 93 powered them to a massive 247/2 against Gujarat Titans at Eden Gardens on Saturday.
The explosive New Zealand opener smashed 10 sixes and four boundaries in a stunning 35-ball knock, punishing Gujarat Titans for multiple dropped catches in a must-win clash for KKR.
Finn Allen Unleashes Carnage At Eden Gardens
Allen came out attacking from the very first over and never allowed the Gujarat bowlers to settle.
The KKR opener survived two early chances after being dropped on 14 and 33, but Gujarat paid a heavy price as the Kiwi batter launched a brutal assault on both pace and spin.
He hammered Kagiso Rabada for successive sixes before tearing into Rashid Khan with fearless strokeplay. Allen reached his half-century in just 21 balls and looked set for a sensational century before eventually falling for 93.
His innings featured 86 runs in boundaries alone and also set a new record for the most sixes by a KKR batter in a single IPL innings.
Raghuvanshi, Green Continue The Destruction
While Allen dominated the early phase, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green ensured there was no slowdown after his dismissal.
Raghuvanshi played a classy unbeaten knock of 82, mixing elegant timing with aggressive intent, while Green smashed an unbeaten 52 off quick deliveries to finish the innings strongly.
The pair stitched together a rapid 108-run partnership off just 53 balls for the third wicket as Gujarat’s bowling attack completely lost control in the death overs.
KKR crossed 200 in just 17 overs and eventually finished with a daunting 247/2 — their biggest total of the season.
Gujarat Titans’ Fielding Horror Show
The Titans endured a disastrous outing in the field, dropping four catches during the innings.
Allen, Raghuvanshi and Green were all given reprieves, and KKR capitalised ruthlessly on every mistake. Mohammed Siraj, Washington Sundar and Arshad Khan were among the fielders guilty of costly errors.
GT’s usually disciplined bowling unit struggled badly on a batting-friendly surface, with even experienced bowlers like Rashid Khan and Rabada unable to stop the flow of runs.
KKR Keep Playoff Dreams Alive
The massive total came at a crucial stage of the tournament for Kolkata Knight Riders, whose playoff hopes were hanging by a thread before the match.
Allen’s explosive form has now added a completely new dimension to KKR’s batting lineup, with the franchise suddenly looking one of the most dangerous sides heading into the final stretch of IPL 2026.
The stunning batting display also sent a strong message to the rest of the league as KKR aim to mount a late playoff push.
