The 2026 Senior Pan-American Wrestling Championships will bring together some of the finest wrestlers from across the Americas as the continental tournament gets underway in Coralville, Iowa, from May 7 to 10. Hosted at the Xtream Arena, the four-day competition will feature elite athletes in Greco-Roman, Women’s Wrestling and Men’s Freestyle categories.
The tournament, organised under United World Wrestling (UWW), is expected to attract top-ranked wrestlers from powerhouse nations including the United States, Cuba, Canada, Brazil and Mexico. With continental titles and ranking points at stake, the event promises high-intensity action on the mat.
Team USA enters the championships with a strong 30-member roster featuring several nationally recognised names. Wrestlers such as Levi Haines, Real Woods, Zahid Valencia and Wyatt Hendrickson are among the athletes expected to headline the freestyle competition. Many of them arrive in Coralville after impressive performances at the U.S. Open Championships earlier this season.
“The Pan-American Championships always bring a different level of intensity because every country sends its best,” a USA Wrestling official said ahead of the event.
The competition begins on Thursday with Greco-Roman qualification rounds and medal bouts, while women’s wrestling action starts on Friday. Men’s freestyle wrestling is scheduled for the final two days, with championship matches concluding on Sunday.
Fans worldwide will be able to watch the event live through FloWrestling, while live brackets, scores and updated results will be available on the UWW Arena platform throughout the tournament.
The Pan-American Championships continue to play a major role in the international wrestling calendar, often serving as a proving ground for future world and Olympic medal contenders. Several past champions from the event have gone on to secure medals at the World Championships and Olympic Games.
With four days of non-stop wrestling action, Coralville is set to become the centre of continental wrestling this week.
