Beijing – Host nation China continued its unchallenged dominance in competitive diving by winning all nine gold medals at the 2026 World Aquatics Diving World Cup Super Final held at the National Aquatics Center in Beijing. China’s clean sweep was completed on the final day as stars delivered thrilling performances in both the women’s 3m springboard and the men’s 10m platform finals.
Nail-Biting Finish in Women’s 3m Springboard
The penultimate event of the Super Final was a showcase of precision and competitive spirit. Chen Jia, 21, narrowly retained her title with a score of 374.40, edging out compatriot Chen Yiwen by just 1.35 points to claim gold. Australia’s Maddison Keeney took the bronze with a commendable performance. The final round came down to minute margins, with differences in judge scoring proving decisive.
Chen Jia reflected on her victory, saying she focused less on the scoreboard and more on delivering her best dive, a strategy that ultimately paid off on the platform. Chen Yiwen acknowledged areas for improvement and emphasized her focus on refining her technique ahead of future major competitions.
Dramatic Conclusion in Men’s 10m Platform
The final gold of the meet was one of the most dramatic. In a performance that had spectators on the edge of their seats, Mexico’s Randal Willars Valdez, 24, surged into the lead after four rounds with a personal best total of 538.15 points, positioning himself to potentially break China’s streak. However, China’s Bai Yuming, just 19, delivered a clutch final dive scoring 101.75, finishing with 542.95 points to secure gold. China’s Lian Junjie earned the bronze, rounding out another strong performance for the host nation.
Willars Valdez described the competition as a great learning experience and expressed satisfaction with his personal best score, despite narrowly missing out on gold. Bai acknowledged that winning the individual title was a significant achievement early in his career.
Unmatched Overall Performance
China’s perfect haul affirmed its status as the world’s leading diving nation. Across the Super Final, Chinese athletes not only clinched all available gold medals but also displayed depth with additional silver and bronze finishes. Standout divers such as Wang Zongyuan and Jiang Linjing were recognized as the best male and female divers of the season, highlighting a strong mix of experience and emerging talent within the squad.
