Santa Clara: The Seattle Seahawks clinched the second Super Bowl title in franchise history, defeating the New England Patriots 29–13 in Super Bowl LX at Levi’s Stadium, powered by a suffocating defensive display and a standout performance from Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker III.
Nicknamed the “Dark Side”, Seattle’s defense delivered a championship-winning effort, relentlessly pressuring Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. The unit sacked Maye six times and forced three turnovers, effectively dismantling New England’s offense on the sport’s biggest stage.
Linebacker Derick Hall ignited the defensive surge in the third quarter with a crucial strip sack—his first forced turnover since 2024. In the fourth quarter, Uchenna Nwosu and Julian Love sealed the game with back-to-back interceptions, crushing any hopes of a Patriots comeback.
Seattle’s offense was led by Walker, who rushed for 135 yards on 27 carries, averaging five yards per attempt and controlling the tempo throughout the game. Quarterback Sam Darnold, once labeled a journeyman after being a former first-round pick, delivered a composed, turnover-free performance, completing 19 of 38 passes for 202 yards and a touchdown.
The Patriots were held scoreless until late in the fourth quarter, when Maye connected with Mack Hollins on a 35-yard touchdown pass to narrow the gap to 19–7. However, Seattle’s defense responded immediately, ensuring New England never threatened again.
With a dominant blend of defensive intensity and offensive balance, the Seahawks etched their names into NFL history once more, lifting the Lombardi Trophy and reaffirming their status as one of the league’s elite franchises.
