Howe insists he remains right man

Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe has insisted he would step aside immediately if he felt he was no longer the right person to lead the club.

The 46-year-old was speaking after mounting pressure followed Newcastle’s damaging 3-2 defeat against Brentford at St James’ Park, which saw the team slip to 12th in the Premier League.

Supporters booed at full-time, and Howe admitted he was “not doing my job well enough at the moment”, reflecting the growing frustration around the club.

Howe shows self-belief amid criticism

Despite the recent struggles, Howe remains confident in his ability to guide Newcastle forward.

He said there was “no doubt” in his mind about his suitability for the role and stressed that the club’s interests always come first.

According to Howe, if he ever felt he could no longer provide the players with what they needed, he would step aside without hesitation.

He also reminded supporters of his commitment to Newcastle since taking charge in November 2021.

Poor run tests Newcastle’s resolve

Newcastle have managed just one win in their last eight matches across all competitions, raising concerns over form and consistency.

However, Howe continues to enjoy the backing of the club’s hierarchy after transforming the team in recent years.

Under his leadership, Newcastle ended their long trophy drought by winning the Carabao Cup last season and qualified for the Champions League twice.

The club now faces important fixtures, including a Champions League clash with Qarabag and an FA Cup tie against Aston Villa.

Manager draws strength from past battles

Howe admitted he is going through one of the toughest periods of his reign but believes past experiences will help him overcome the current slump.

He highlighted the importance of unity, fight, and collective spirit within the squad.

According to him, momentum can shift quickly in football, and a few positive results could change the entire outlook.

He remains confident that with belief and togetherness, Newcastle can turn their season around soon.
