Manchester: Usain Bolt, the world’s fastest man and an eight-time Olympic gold medallist, is planning a surprising return to football — this time with a non-league side featuring former Premier League players, according to The Times of India.
Bolt, who previously attempted a professional football career after retiring from athletics in 2017, had trained with top clubs and even played in Australia’s A-League. However, his earlier bid to secure a long-term professional contract did not succeed.
Now 39, the Jamaican icon is reportedly targeting a comeback with Wythenshawe Vets, a team linked with former Premier League players such as Danny Drinkwater and Marc Albrighton. Bolt believes he still has the ability to contribute on the field if he regains match fitness.
“I just need to get fit and I’ll be ready,” Bolt reportedly said, expressing renewed excitement about returning to competitive football (as reported by The Times of India).
While this comeback is unlikely to mirror a full professional revival, it highlights Bolt’s continued love for the sport and his desire to challenge himself beyond athletics.
