Mumbai Indians Women produced a commanding all-round performance to outclass Delhi Capitals Women by 50 runs, posting 195/4 before bowling the hosts out for 145 in 19 overs.
After being put in to bat, Mumbai overcame an early setback when Amelia Kerr fell for a golden duck, but Nat Sciver-Brunt and G Kamalini steadied the innings with a crucial partnership. Sciver-Brunt anchored the middle overs with a fluent 70 off 46 balls, registering her ninth WPL half-century. The innings was then taken to another level by skipper Harmanpreet Kaur, who remained unbeaten on a dominant 74 off 42 balls.

Her explosive finish, including a 19-run final over, propelled Mumbai close to the 200 mark.
Delhi’s bowling effort was led by debutant Nandni Sharma, who impressed with figures of 2 for 26, while Chinelle Henry and Sree Charani chipped in with a wicket each.
Chasing 196, Delhi Capitals never found momentum. Mumbai’s bowlers struck early and hard, reducing the hosts to four wickets down inside the powerplay. Key batters Shafali Verma, Laura Wolvaardt and skipper Jemimah Rodrigues departed cheaply, and Marizanne Kapp followed soon after, leaving the chase in disarray. Chinelle Henry offered some resistance down the order, but the target proved well beyond reach.
Mumbai’s bowling unit was relentless, with Amelia Kerr claiming three wickets, Nat Sciver-Brunt picking up two, and Nicola Carey making key inroads with the new ball. Shabnim Ismail was exceptional with her control, conceding just 14 runs and taking an important wicket.
Harmanpreet Kaur, who was named Player of the Match, praised her team’s bounce-back after the previous defeat, highlighting the depth in both batting and bowling as the key to the comprehensive win.
The victory marks a strong turnaround for the defending champions, while Delhi Capitals will look to regroup quickly as the tournament moves on.
