Lauren Hemp has been recalled to the England squad for the first time since Euro 2025 after recovering from an ankle injury. The Manchester City forward, 25, recently returned to club action and started in City’s derby win over Manchester United.

James left out despite club comeback
Lauren James, who has made two substitute appearances for Chelsea since her four-month ankle layoff, is not included. The 24-year-old has yet to start a match this season after being injured in the Euro 2025 final win over Spain.

Wiegman names 25-player squad
Sarina Wiegman has selected a 25-player group for friendlies against China on 29 November and Ghana on 2 December. West Ham full-back Anouk Denton returns after her first call-up last month, while London City Lionesses forward Freya Godfrey earns her maiden senior selection following strong WSL form.

Midfield boosts and NWSL considerations
City midfielder Grace Clinton is back after missing the October internationals with a minor injury. In defence, Esme Morgan is included despite a heavy recent schedule with Washington Spirit. Jess Carter is rested following Gotham FC’s NWSL play-off run.

Hampton absent through injury
Chelsea goalkeeper Hannah Hampton, winner of this year’s Yashin Trophy, is sidelined with a thigh injury. Her absence comes shortly after Mary Earps’ criticism in her autobiography, though club coach Sonia Bompastor recently praised Hampton’s response.

Key injuries continue to affect squad
Michelle Agyemang, who shone at the Euros, is ruled out with an ACL injury. Captain Leah Williamson and Alex Greenwood also remain unavailable with knee problems, while Arsenal teenager Katie Reid misses out after her own ACL setback last month.
