Lamar Jackson marked his comeback in style as the Baltimore Ravens defeated the Miami Dolphins 28-6, with the star quarterback throwing four touchdown passes after returning from a hamstring injury.
Jackson Shines on Return
The 28-year-old, a two-time NFL Most Valuable Player, completed 18 of 23 passes for 204 yards with no interceptions. He had missed three games since suffering the injury during the Ravens’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on 28 September.
“He’s a two-time MVP for a reason,” said tight end Mark Andrews. “With number 8 leading the charge, we’re a dangerous team.”
Ravens Find Winning Rhythm
Baltimore (3-5) have now won two consecutive games and are aiming to become only the fifth team in NFL history to reach the play-offs after losing five of their first six. Meanwhile, Miami (2-7) have dropped four of their last five matches.
The Ravens’ defence was solid at Hard Rock Stadium, restricting the Dolphins to just two field goals.
Henry Hits Milestone
Jackson admitted feeling “a little rusty” early on but soon found his touch, connecting with Andrews for two touchdowns before adding scores for Charlie Kolar and Rashod Bateman.
Running back Derrick Henry rushed for 119 yards on 19 carries, becoming the 17th player in NFL history to surpass 12,000 career rushing yards.
“It was even better that when he [Jackson] came back, it was in his hometown — it probably gave him a little more juice,” Henry said.
