India continued their dominance at the ISSF Junior World Cup by winning both gold and silver in the 10m air rifle mixed team event, while Vinay Pratap Chandrawat clinched a bronze in men’s trap on Tuesday.
Isha Anil Taksale and Himanshu fought back brilliantly to edge Shambhavi Kshirsagar and Naraen Pranav 17-15 in the all-Indian final. The pair trailed 9-15 before reeling off eight straight points to take the gold.
The contest saw top-quality shooting. Shambhavi fired two perfect 10.9s, while Isha also delivered a 10.9 in the tense battle. Only five of the 64 shots fell short of the 10-ring.
In men’s trap, Chandrawat shot consistently to secure bronze and add to India’s medal rush.
With seven gold, nine silver and seven bronze medals, India sit firmly on top of the standings with a total of 23 medals ahead of the final day.
