Bhubaneswar : Frank Manheim, at 95, isn’t just a name for the record books—he’s a living legend whose passion for the pool defies age and expectations. This year, Manheim made history as the oldest competitor ever at the US Masters Swimming Nationals in Federal Way, Washington, tackling four events: the 50 and 100 freestyle, and 50 and 100 backstroke.
“My lifelong goal has always been to improve—no matter where I start,” Manheim once shared, reflecting the relentless discipline that saw him rack up an astonishing 433 competitive swims, 148 individual Top Ten finishes, and 36 relay Top Ten finishes. Multiple All-American honors and a lifetime USMS record are just the numbers; for Manheim, swimming is about focus, challenge, and joy.
His story has become a beacon for every age group—proof that dedication and resilience make age just a number. As social media tributes put it, Frank embodies “pure love for the sport, unstoppable spirit, and decades of inspiration.” He shows the world that history isn’t just made by young stars; it’s shaped by those who never quit swimming toward their dreams.
