Smriti Mandhana reclaimed the No.1 position in the ICC ODI batting rankings after her half-century against Australia, a boost to India ahead of the Women’s World Cup starting September 30.
Half-century in Mullanpur
Mandhana struck 58 off 63 balls in the opening match of the three-game series. Despite her fluent knock, India fell short as Australia comfortably chased down the target to go 1-0 up.
Close fight with Sciver-Brunt
The left-hander’s effort earned her seven rating points, taking her tally to 735—four clear of England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt, who slipped to second. Mandhana first became world No.1 in 2019 and has now returned to the top twice in 2025.
Indian players on the rise
Opener Pratika Rawal jumped four places to 42nd after scoring 64, while Harleen Deol moved to 43rd with her 54. Spinner Sneh Rana climbed five rungs to 13th in the bowling charts.
Australian stars climb too
Beth Mooney’s unbeaten 77 pushed her to fifth place among batters, while Annabel Sutherland and Phoebe Litchfield rose to joint 25th. In bowling, Kim Garth and Alana King reached career-best rankings of fourth and fifth.
