Olympic champion Julien Alfred dominated the women’s 100m at the Oslo Diamond League on Thursday, clocking an impressive 10.89 seconds to take the win in front of a packed 15,000-strong crowd at Bislett Stadium.
Alfred, who made history last summer by becoming Saint Lucia’s first Olympic medalist, looked a class apart as she opened her Diamond League title defence in style.
Adding to the special occasion, sprinting icon Usain Bolt—making his first appearance in Oslo since retiring in 2017—was on hand to present Alfred with a bouquet of flowers after her victory.
Ivorian veteran Marie-Josee Ta Lou-Smith took second place in 11.00 seconds, while Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith finished third in 11.08.
