Raúl Fernández turned a difficult Saturday into a statement Sunday at Silverstone, producing a controlled and dominant ride to win the 2026 British Grand Prix and give Trackhouse Racing another major MotoGP milestone.
The Spaniard led from the opening lap and never surrendered control of the race, crossing the chequered flag 2.54 seconds ahead of championship leader Jorge Martín. The victory was Fernández’s second MotoGP win, and his first since triumphing at the 2025 Australian Grand Prix.
The result also capped a remarkable turnaround for Fernández, who had crashed in Saturday’s Sprint. Rather than allowing that setback to affect his confidence, the Trackhouse rider responded with one of his most convincing performances of the season.
Fernández Turns Setback Into Silverstone Masterclass
Fernández made his intentions clear immediately. Starting from the front group, he moved ahead at Turn 1 and quickly began creating breathing room between himself and the chasing pack.
The Aprilia rider eventually stretched his advantage beyond four seconds before managing the gap during the closing stages. Martín reduced the deficit slightly towards the finish, but Fernández remained comfortably in control.
For Trackhouse Racing, the victory was particularly significant as it demonstrated the team’s ability to fight at the sharp end of the MotoGP field against the factory-backed contenders.
Fernández’s win also underlined how quickly fortunes can change in MotoGP. After Saturday’s Sprint crash, the Spaniard returned to Silverstone’s main race with a completely different story to tell.

Martín fought his way back through the field and eventually passed Marco Bezzecchi on Lap 9 to take second. However, by that point Fernández had established too much of an advantage for Martín to challenge for victory.
Despite missing out on the win, second place was hugely valuable in the championship battle. Martín extended his lead in the standings to 31 points.
The result showed the importance of championship consistency: even when victory was out of reach, Martín maximised his points haul.
Bezzecchi Completes All-Aprilia Podium
Marco Bezzecchi completed the podium in third, giving Aprilia a stunning 1-2-3 finish at Silverstone.
Bezzecchi initially benefited from Martín’s difficult start but was eventually unable to hold off the championship leader. He nevertheless secured a crucial podium and moved into second place in the championship standings.
The podium was particularly important for Bezzecchi after a difficult run of Sunday results. His third-place finish marked his first Sunday podium since winning the Italian Grand Prix in May.
Marc Márquez Endures Difficult British GP
Defending world champion Marc Márquez endured a frustrating weekend by his standards.
The Ducati rider started sixth but could only manage seventh at the finish, losing further ground in the championship standings. He now sits fourth overall after the Silverstone round.
Behind the podium finishers, Álex Márquez was fourth, Pedro Acosta took fifth and Fabio Di Giannantonio completed the top six.
