Defending champion Shaurya Bhattacharya will begin his title defence when the fifth edition of the J&K Open gets underway at the picturesque Royal Springs Golf Course in Srinagar on Tuesday.
The ₹1 crore event will feature a strong field led by DP World PGTI Order of Merit leader Saptak Talwar, alongside Veer Ahlawat, Om Prakash Chouhan and Manu Gandas, setting up a highly competitive contest.
Prize Purse Doubled For Fifth Edition
The tournament returns with a doubled prize purse of ₹1 crore and has attracted 14 overseas golfers from nine countries, including the United States, Japan, the Czech Republic, Canada and Malaysia.
The second half of the 2026 DP World PGTI season officially began on Sunday with the unveiling of the DP World India Championship Lotus Trophy in the presence of Jammu & Kashmir cricketer Auqib Nabi and Order of Merit leader Talwar.

Local professionals Arindam Sudan, Fayaz Ahmed Langoo, Adnan Mubarik Rah and Pawan Parihar will also be aiming to impress on home soil.
The tournament forms part of the Jammu & Kashmir government’s efforts to promote golf tourism and showcase the Valley as a premier sporting destination.
DP World PGTI CEO Amandeep Johl welcomed the return of the event, describing Royal Springs Golf Course as an ideal venue to launch the second half of the season and thanked Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and the Jammu & Kashmir government for their continued support.
