Bournemouth are close to signing Sevilla right-back Juanlu Sanchez in a deal worth up to £11.1 million as manager Marco Rose continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.
The 22-year-old Spaniard is expected to join the Cherries for an initial fee of £9.4 million, with a further £1.7 million in performance-related add-ons. He is set to sign a long-term contract at the Vitality Stadium.
Third Summer Signing For Bournemouth
Juanlu will become Bournemouth’s third signing of the transfer window following the arrivals of defender Antonio Silva from Benfica and striker Alvaro Rodriguez from Elche.
The highly rated full-back has represented Spain extensively at youth level and is regarded as an attack-minded defender with significant first-team experience despite his age.
Rose Eyes Goalkeeping Addition
With Juanlu’s arrival imminent, Bournemouth’s attention is expected to shift towards signing a deputy goalkeeper to compete with first-choice Djordje Petrovic as the club prepares for its first-ever UEFA Europa League campaign.
Meanwhile, Sevilla have shown interest in Bournemouth striker Enes Unal, although the Turkey international is also attracting attention from clubs in his homeland and Saudi Arabia.
The Premier League club are also determined to retain promising youngsters Eli Junior Kroupi, Rayan and Alex Scott, with senior club sources indicating the trio are not available for transfer this summer.
