India’s unbeaten run in the men’s pairs lawn bowls competition at the Commonwealth Games came to an end after Navneet Singh and Dinesh Kumar lost a tense tie-break to England’s Nick Brett and Jamie Walker in their final Section B league match in Glasgow on Saturday.
England edged the opening set 4-3 before the Indian duo bounced back to claim the second set 4-2, forcing the contest into a tie-break. However, Brett and Walker prevailed 1-0 to hand Navneet and Dinesh their first defeat of the competition.
Four Straight Wins Keep India In Strong Position
Despite the setback, the Indian pair remain well placed in the race for the knockout stages after winning their first four Section B matches.
Their impressive run had put them on the brink of qualification, and they will now await the remaining results to confirm their place in the next round.
