India’s women’s compound archery team once again showcased its class on the international stage as Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Gopichand Swami and Parneet Kaur clinched the gold medal at the Archery World Cup in Shanghai. The Indian trio delivered a commanding performance in the final, defeating Italy 236-225 to finish on top of the podium.

The victory highlighted the remarkable consistency of a team that has become one of the strongest forces in world compound archery. Entering the competition as one of the favourites, the Indian archers displayed exceptional accuracy throughout the knockout rounds and maintained their composure in the gold-medal match.

Against the sixth-seeded Italian side, India established control early and never allowed their opponents to close the gap. The trio dropped only a handful of points during the contest, underlining their technical superiority and teamwork under pressure.

The gold medal also added another significant chapter to the growing legacy of the Indian combination. Jyothi Surekha Vennam, one of India’s most decorated compound archers, provided valuable experience, while world champion Aditi Swami and rising star Parneet Kaur continued their impressive international form. The trio has already earned global recognition through World Championship and World Cup successes, and the Shanghai triumph further strengthens their reputation as one of the world’s elite compound teams.

India’s success in Shanghai was not limited to the women’s team event. The country’s compound archers enjoyed a highly successful campaign, collecting multiple medals and reaffirming India’s status as a powerhouse in the discipline.

For Indian archery, the victory serves as another encouraging sign ahead of the remaining stages of the World Cup season. With experienced campaigners and young champions combining effectively, the future of Indian compound archery continues to look exceptionally bright.
