India’s squash stars turned familiarity into dominance as Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh clinched the Indian Open 2026 titles, completing a memorable double on home soil.

Women’s Final: Anahat defends with authority

Anahat Singh (IND) bt. Hana Moataz (EGY) – 3-1

(Game scores: approx. 11-8, 7-11, 11-5, 11-7)

The teenage sensation showed composure and tactical maturity, overcoming a strong Egyptian challenge. After dropping a game, Anahat raised her tempo, controlling rallies and finishing clinically to successfully defend her title.Having already been a champion in the previous edition, this win reinforces her growing stature in world squash.

Men’s Final: Abhay conquers all-Indian clash

Abhay Singh (IND) bt. Veer Chotrani (IND) – 3-1

(Game pattern: tight opening, momentum shift, dominant finish)

In an all-Indian final, Abhay showcased experience and resilience. After a competitive start, he dictated play with aggressive shot-making and superior court coverage to seal the title.

Road to glory: Key semifinal results

Anahat Singh bt. Tanvi Khanna – 3-1

Abhay Singh bt. Ameeshenraj Chandaran – 3-1 (11-9, 9-11, 11-3, 11-8)

Both champions had to dig deep in the semifinals, bouncing back after losing a game — a sign of their championship temperament.

Numbers that define dominance

Both champions won finals 3-1

All semifinal matches ended 3-1, highlighting competitive intensity

Multiple Indian semifinalists in both draws underline depth in the sport .The bigger picture: India’s squash era rising. This wasn’t just about two titles — it was about complete Indian control: Indian finalists in both men’s and women’s events

An all-Indian men’s final

A defending champion retaining her crown .For Anahat Singh, it’s another step in a meteoric rise. For Abhay Singh, it’s validation of his status as India’s leading male player.

The Indian Open 2026 didn’t just end with champions — it delivered a statement: Indian squash is no longer chasing the world; it is beginning to set the standard.
