Travis Head Shines Again with Century at Adelaide Oval

Australia’s Travis Head once again lit up the Adelaide Oval on Day 3 of the third Ashes Test, scoring a brilliant 11th Test century, his fourth at the venue. This is Head’s second century of the ongoing Ashes series, having previously scored a hundred in the first Test at Perth, underlining his consistent dominance this summer.

The century came in style. Facing a full delivery from Joe Root, Head charged down the pitch and sent the ball over mid-off for a boundary to reach the milestone. He then dropped to his haunches, removed his helmet, and kissed the turf, celebrating in front of his cheering family and an ecstatic Adelaide crowd.

Head’s innings blended aggression and precision, keeping the English bowlers under pressure while wickets fell at the other end. He has been ably supported by Alex Carey, the first-innings centurion, as Australia now lead by over 300 runs with six wickets remaining, firmly placing the hosts in control.

Earlier, England had been bowled out for 286, despite a late 106-run partnership for the ninth wicket between Ben Stokes (83) and Jofra Archer (51). Quick wickets from Jacks, Tongue, and Carse had put Australia back in command, but it was Head’s masterful knock that defined the day.

Fans have hailed him as the “second-innings beast”, praising his knack for scoring big when it matters. With the Adelaide Oval continuing to be a fortress for Head, Australia is well-positioned to set a huge target and push for victory in this pivotal Ashes clash.
