The final day in Kobe belonged to Navdeep Singh, who roared with pride after clinching silver in men’s F41 javelin with a season-best throw of 45.46 metres, sealing India’s place in the top ten of the medal table.
India’s overall tally stood at 6 gold, 9 silver, and 7 bronze medals, a remarkable leap that underlined the country’s growing strength in para athletics. Singh’s emotional celebration summed up the spirit of the Indian contingent, which fought fiercely across track and field events.
Among other standout performers, Simran Sharma grabbed silver in the women’s 200m T12, showing immense determination despite battling fatigue, while Preethi Pal earned silver in the 100m T35 after a dramatic rerun caused by a starter malfunction. Sandeep also impressed with a bronze in the men’s 200m T44, clocking a personal best of 23.60 seconds.
