Mane storms into contention with record 67 at Kolar Open

PC- Lokmat Times

Udayan Mane delivered a stunning round of five-under 67 to set a new course record and shoot up the leaderboard in the second round of the ₹1-crore Kolar Open 2025 on Wednesday.

Mane’s turnaround

The Olympian, who started the day tied 24th after a below-par 73 in the opening round, bounced back strongly at the ZION Hills Golf County. Mane’s flawless ball-striking helped him go bogey-free and surpass the previous course record of 68 set by Honey Baisoya on day one. With a two-round aggregate of four-under 140, he surged into joint first place.

Weather disruption halts play

The second day’s action was interrupted by heavy rain, forcing officials to halt proceedings in the evening. Thirty-one players were unable to complete their rounds and will resume early Thursday before the third round begins.

Close challengers

Nepal’s Subash Tamang carded a steady 69, while Chandigarh’s Jairaj Singh Sandhu shot a 70 to finish at three-under 141, just one stroke behind Mane. Delhi’s Shaurya Bhattacharya followed at two-under 142. Among the unfinished rounds, Gurugram’s Dhruv Sheoran was four-under through 15 holes and tied with Mane, while Umed Kumar was six-under for the day and at three-under overall.

The tournament now heads into a crucial third day, with the leaderboard tightly packed and the rain adding further uncertainty to the contest.
