India Gears Up for Hockey Asia Cup in Rajgir, Pranavi Shines at Hills Open

Bihar : The Indian men’s hockey team has arrived in Rajgir, Bihar, setting the stage for the much-anticipated Hockey Asia Cup 2025. Captained by Harmanpreet Singh, the team is ready to take on strong opponents in their pool, including Japan, China, and Kazakhstan. The tournament, running from August 29 to September 7, doubles as a qualifier for the 2026 Hockey World Cup, making every match crucial. India kicks off its campaign against China on August 29, aiming to reclaim the prestigious Asia Cup title on home soil.

Meanwhile, Indian golfing sensation Pranavi Urs has turned heads at the Hills Open in Gothenburg, Sweden, finishing as the top Indian alongside a tie for 21st place. With a final round score of 2-under, she showcased resilience, especially notable as she battles back from injury. Though a double bogey late in the round kept her from a top-15 finish, her performance shines as a beacon of potential on the international golfing stage.

Other Indian women golfers, including Hitaashee Bakshi and Sneha Singh, also made their presence felt, with Bakshi finishing tied-41st and Singh tied-47th. The Asian hockey scene is heating up with defending champions South Korea joining the action in Bihar, promising fierce competition.

As headlines buzz with Indian athletes competing fiercely across continents, the spirit of Indian sports remains vibrant and inspiring. From Rajgir’s hockey field to Sweden’s golf course, India is poised for moments of glory that captivate sports fans everywhere.

This compelling blend of domestic and international sports achievements highlights a promising chapter in India’s sporting saga on August 25, 2025.
