Real Madrid have strengthened their squad by signing Netherlands defender Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan on a four-year contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 2030. The move marks another significant addition to the club’s summer transfer window as they continue to reinforce their squad for the upcoming season.
The 30-year-old right-back arrives after an impressive spell with Inter, where he established himself as one of Europe’s most dynamic wing-backs. Since joining the Italian club in 2021, Dumfries played a key role in their domestic success, helping the Nerazzurri win two Serie A titles, multiple Coppa Italia trophies and Italian Super Cups.
Renowned for his pace, physicality and attacking instincts, Dumfries is expected to provide strong competition on the right side of Madrid’s defence. His arrival further enhances the club’s defensive depth as Los Blancos prepare to challenge for major honours in Spain and Europe.
The transfer reportedly came after Real Madrid activated the Dutch international’s €20 million release clause, although the club did not officially disclose the financial details of the deal.
Dumfries becomes one of Real Madrid’s key summer recruits, reflecting the club’s intent to build a squad capable of competing on multiple fronts. With vast experience in both Serie A and international football with the Netherlands, the defender is expected to make an immediate impact at the Bernabéu.
