India’s promising weightlifting talent Martina Devi produced another impressive performance on the continental stage, securing a silver medal in the women’s junior +87kg category at the Asian Junior Weightlifting Championships in Doha, Qatar.
The 18-year-old lifter from Manipur registered a total lift of 225kg, made up of 96kg in Snatch and 129kg in Clean & Jerk, to finish second in the competition. Her effort earned India a valuable podium finish at one of Asia’s premier junior weightlifting events.
Martina’s performance was notable not only for the overall silver medal but also for her success in the individual lifts. She claimed a silver medal in Clean & Jerk and a bronze medal in Snatch, highlighting her consistency across both disciplines.
