Kolkata Knight Riders produced a clinical all-round performance to defeat Delhi Capitals by eight wickets in an IPL 2026 clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.
Chasing a modest target of 143, KKR stormed to victory in just 14.2 overs, thanks largely to a breathtaking unbeaten century from Finn Allen. The explosive opener smashed a 47-ball hundred packed with boundaries and towering sixes, leaving the Delhi bowling attack with no answers.
Earlier, Delhi Capitals struggled to build momentum after a promising start. Pathum Nissanka scored a fighting half-century, while Ashutosh Sharma chipped in with a useful contribution, but KKR’s spin attack tightened control through the middle overs. Sunil Narine, Anukul Roy and Varun Chakaravarthy played key roles in restricting Delhi to 142/8.
The emphatic victory marked Kolkata’s fourth consecutive win and significantly boosted their playoff hopes in the ongoing IPL season. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals suffered another major setback in their campaign, with their qualification chances now hanging by a thread.
