SAN FRANCISCO : Victor Wembanyama delivered another historic performance Wednesday night, scoring 41 points and grabbing 18 rebounds to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 127–113 victory over the Golden State Warriors, extending their win streak to 10 games.
The 22-year-old French star matched his season high in scoring for the second straight game and became the first player in Spurs history to record consecutive 40-point double-doubles. Wembanyama’s efficiency was remarkable: he shot 16-for-22 from the field and added three blocks in just 29 minutes of play.
Early Dominance Sets the Tone
San Antonio jumped out fast, building a 17–3 lead in the opening minutes as Wembanyama scored ten of the team’s first 14 points. He continued his aggressive attack throughout the night, helping the Spurs maintain control from start to finish.
Stephon Castle was a key contributor with 15 points and 11 assists, while De’Aaron Fox finished with 11 points. Seven Spurs players ended the game in double figures, underscoring a well-balanced offensive effort.
Warriors Fight but Fall Short
Golden State, missing several key starters due to injuries, kept the game competitive at times. Nate Williams led the Warriors with 18 points, and LJ Cryer added 17. However, San Antonio’s depth and relentless scoring pace proved too much for the short-handed hosts.
What It Means
The win improved the Spurs’ record to 58–18, keeping them firmly in the hunt for the top seed in the Western Conference with just a handful of regular-season games left. San Antonio has now won 15 of its last 16 games, signaling a potential deep playoff run .
