Colombo : Sri Lanka Cricket today unveiled its 15-member squad for the ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup 2026, scheduled to be played from 15 January to 6 February in Namibia and Zimbabwe. The announcement signals an exciting new chapter for Sri Lanka’s youth cricketers as they prepare to compete on the global stage.
The squad will be led by promising young batter Vimath Dinsara, with Kavija Gamage appointed vice-captain, a leadership duo expected to bring fresh energy and tactical nous to the team.
“We have selected a balanced squad that combines batting depth with bowling versatility,” said a Sri Lanka Cricket spokesperson. “Our focus is on adaptability to the conditions in Namibia and Zimbabwe, and on giving these talented youngsters a chance to shine.”

The squad boasts promising young talents drawn from schools and clubs across Sri Lanka, blending batting flair with all-round skills that selectors hope will make a mark in the tournament.
Sri Lanka are placed in a competitive group alongside the defending champions Australia, Ireland, and Japan. Their campaign begins with a Group match against Japan on 17 January, a game that could set the tone for their World Cup journey.
“The goal is to build confidence and consistency throughout the tournament,” added the SLC official. “We believe this squad has the talent and hunger to compete with the best.”
