The stage is set for the IPL 2026 mini auction, with 350 players going under the hammer on December 16 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) released the final auction list on Tuesday, highlighting a mix of established stars and emerging talent.
Out of 1,390 players who registered for the auction, 350 have been shortlisted—comprising 240 Indian and 110 overseas cricketers. The list features 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped overseas players, promising an exciting blend of fresh talent and seasoned campaigners.
Franchises will compete for 77 available slots, including 31 overseas spots. Among the pool, 40 players have set their base price at the maximum Rs 2 crore, with Venkatesh Iyer and Ravi Bishnoi being the only Indians in this elite group.
Ahead of the mini auction, teams have retained 173 players, including 49 overseas cricketers. A total purse of Rs 237.55 crore will be up for grabs to fill the remaining 77 slots.
Notably, South African wicketkeepers Quinton de Kock and George Linde, along with Sri Lanka’s Dunith Wellalage, have been added to the final auction list, despite missing the initial longlist.
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) enter the auction with the largest purse of Rs 64.3 crore, aiming to fill up to 13 slots, including six overseas positions. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) follow with a purse of Rs 43.4 crore to fill nine slots.
All eyes will be on Australia’s Cameron Green, tipped to be the most expensive buy, as both KKR and CSK are expected to engage in competitive bidding for the star all-rounder.
With a mix of top-tier talent and uncapped hopefuls, the IPL 2026 mini auction promises high drama, strategic surprises, and a new wave of cricketing excitement.
