A journey of a thousand miles begins with a small step. So, did we! And, now I am delighted to welcome our readers to the 16th edition of SSI Fanzine. It has been our endeavour to boost the morale of our readers with inspiring stories, besides imparting knowledge about sports science and injuries. With the same motto, we bring you the inspiring story of Jaydev Mohapatra, who aims at strengthening grassroots football training in India. His academy, Ardor, offers free football coaching to children in slums. In line with the same spirit, we interviewed a Nigerian coach, who trains underprivileged children for free in boxing to popularise the sport in his country. On the knowledge front, we have compiled informative pieces on tendon rupture, GIRD and a ballerina’s body. Not to forget, our monthly round-up of sports is your dose of sports news.
