Welcome to the 15th edition of Sports Science India Fanzine. In this edition, we bring you the story of the brave girls of Indian Women’s Ice Hockey team, who have made a mark in the lesser popular sport battling against all odds. From lack of infrastructure to social stigma, they have overcome several challenges to represent the country in International championships. Their unflinching determination has cleared several hurdles like limited resources, unfavorable weather conditions and limited funds. We unfold the story of the recently concluded tournament where the girls finished fourth. The edition also turns the spotlight on origin of karate with an emphasis on ‘Kata.’ Further, the inspiring article about the life and achievements of Brazilian Mixed Martial Arts Champion Marcello will surely be an engrossing read.
