ISSUE 12 | MARCH EDITION

DEAR READERS,

Welcome to the 12th edition of Sports Science India. In each edition, we strive hard to bring you the right mix of content that will not only educate you about sports and sports science but will also leave you motivated. And, this edition is no exception. Our cover story on Manoj Kami—the athlete who bagged the first gold for Sikkim at Khelo India Games—turns the spotlight on a tale of unflinching determination. His inspirational journey will certainly encourage our readers to face challenges with ease. In a bid to pay tribute to India’s tennis star—Vijay Amritraj, we look back at his career and achievements beyond tennis. From addressing the United Nations on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Special Committee against apartheid in South Africa in 1988 to acting in a James Bond film, Amritraj has several feathers added to his cap. We bring you expert articles on stress-free running and ballistic strength and conditioning exercises. In one of the articles, we have discussed a new technology in sports used for performance testing of players. The edition concludes with a piece laced with nostalgia. It recollects the historic sporting events held in Germany, especially Berlin and Munich. We hope our subscribers and clients have an enriching experience while reading
this edition.
