Mondo Duplantis Breaks Pole Vault World Record for the 13th Time
Budapest, Hungary – Swedish pole vaulter Armand ‘Mondo’ Duplantis continues to redefine his sport, clearing an astounding height of 6.29 meters at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial in Budapest on Tuesday. This monumental jump marks the 13th time the 25-year-old has broken the world record in pole vault.
A Year of Record-Breaking Feats
Duplantis’s latest achievement surpasses his previous best of 6.28m, which he set just in June of this year at the Stockholm Diamond League. This is already his third world record of 2025, having also cleared 6.27m in Clermont-Ferrand in February.
His incredible consistency and progression saw him win the gold medal at the Paris Olympics 2024 by clearing a then-record 6.25m. Since that Olympic triumph, he has bettered the World Record an astonishing four times, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in pole vaulting.
Top Finishers in Budapest
In the men’s pole vault competition at the Gyulai Istvan Memorial, Greece’s Emmanouil Karalis secured second place with a best clearance of 6.02m, showcasing his own impressive form. Australia’s Kurtis Marschall claimed third place with a jump of 5.82m.
