Bhubaneswar : In a display of sharp tactics and composure, young chess prodigy Nishanth Challa emerged victorious in the Brilliant Trophy Juniors Online Chess Tournament, hosted virtually and featuring top junior talent from across the country. Scoring an outstanding 11 points out of a possible 12, Nishanth claimed the championship, outpacing fierce contenders in a tightly fought field.
Rajas Dahale and A H Suryanarayana shared second place with 10.5 points each, their final positions determined through tie-breaker rules. Not far behind were K Harshavardhan and Muriel Shanessa Fernandes, who rounded out the top five.
The tournament highlighted the rising depth of chess talent in India and underscored the growing popularity of online platforms in nurturing young minds.
