Wimbledon has announced a record-breaking prize pool of £53.5 million (around $73 million) for this year’s tournament, with the men’s and women’s singles champions each set to take home £3 million ($4 million).
The total prize money is up by £3.5 million from last year—a 7% increase—and marks a doubling of the amount awarded a decade ago. The winners’ purse alone reflects an 11.1% jump compared to last year, aligning with players’ growing calls for a larger share of Grand Slam revenues.
Even those exiting early will benefit, as first-round singles losers will receive £66,000—an increase of 10% from 2024.
Wimbledon 2025 kicks off on June 30 and runs until July 13. Notably, this year’s tournament will introduce a major change: for the first time in its history, there will be no line judges on court, with electronic line-calling taking over completely.
